My guests on todays show are Kelly Johnson from the Red Cohort, and Dustin Chilton from the Green Cohort. They are also the two awesome minds behind the Not the Lampoon competition - a bi-monthly project where Harold Ramis Film School students are divided into teams, and paired with Second City performers to produce a set of short films in just 11 hours. I’ve been fortunate enough to be a part of two of these projects - Carmen and The Bean!, and it’s a lot of fun and a great way to spend a weekend day. I talk with Kelly and Dustin about the Not the Lampoon project, the surprisingly educational origins of Spongebob Squarepants, and the joys of not wearing shoes!
Thank you to Kelly and Dustin, and to the Harold Ramis Film School and Second City Staff for their help. The song on this week’s episode was “Better Things” by The Great Heights Band off their new album “Rad-Pop” - Preorder the album today on iTunes and Google Play before it comes out April 20th. This show was recorded and edited by me, Tony Lazzeroni.
If you want to hear more from me and my classmates, teachers, and a few special guests, make sure to subscribe to the podcast. If you have questions or comments, send us an email at filmstudentpod@gmail.com, or find us on Twitter and Instagram at FilmStudentPod. FilmStudentPod.com has now launched! You can see some of my work - including the films we made for both of the Not The Lampoon’s I’ve done, and Craigslist Ink, which I’ve mentioned on the show before. Watch them all - they’re fun!
See you all next week!
